Sing to me a bit: the importance of Arabic songs to historians
هل قيمة الأغنية تكمن في كونها وسيلة ترفيهية أساساً؟ تتبنى هذه المحاضرة موقفاً آخر حيث تلقي النظرعلى مضمون ولغة وجمهورعِدّة أغانٍ مختلفة من سيد درويش الى فرقة كايروكي كي تبيّن قيمة الأغنية في رصد الثقافة وبالتالي في التعليم.
Are songs mainly just for fun, entertainment? Using songs from Sayyid Darwish to the band Cairokee, this talk will focus on content, language, and reception (by audiences and authorities) to demonstrate the power of songs as a barometer of culture and therefore as a tool for teaching.
