Academic Bio
Doren is a PhD student who aspires to situate and interpret biblical texts in their ancient Near Eastern context. To date, his research has focused on lexical, literary, and cultural affinities that exist among biblical texts and varied works in Ugaritic and Akkadian. He is interested in tropes and poetic devices common to Northwest Semitic texts, and in the material and compositional processes at work in the production of biblical books, with a focus on Chronicles.
