Please join us this Thursday, December 9, at 5:00 pm CST for the last Persian Circle of the quarter! This week, we will have a talk by Prof. Layla Saatchi. Prof. Saatchi is an Assistant Professor of Teaching at Wayne State University. She earned her MA in Near East Studies in 2007 and her PhD in Philosophy in 2020 from Wayne State University. Her MA research focused on American Muslim women’s Islamic jurisprudence, and her dissertation examined reasonable peer disagreement in the context of religion. Since 2007, Prof. Saatchi has taught courses in Islamic and Middle East history, Islamic law, comparative religion, introduction to logic and introduction to philosophy at Wayne State University, Eastern Michigan University and Oakland University.

Her talk is titled “Reasonable Disagreement is Possible.”
