Academic Bio

Anna is currently a PhD candidate studying Near Eastern Art and Archaeology. Her dissertation examines the socio-political organization, inter- and intra-regional interaction networks, and increasing territoriality of the southwestern half of the Central Plateau in Anatolia during the Middle Bronze Age.  She received her B.S. with Honors in Anthropological Sciences and German from the Ohio State University in 2017. Anna has been a member of survey and excavation projects in Turkey, Oman, Germany, Italy, and Cyprus. She has also conducted laboratory work in archaeobotany and anthracology, magnetometry surveys in Turkey, and utilized GIS methods to study movement in the South Caucasus. Anna is currently a Graduate Fellow in the Chicago Center for Teaching and Learning and has taught classes on introductory archaeological methods and the Hittite empire, as well as served as a Writing Intern for first-year undergraduates.
