Sofía Torallas Tovar Appointed to the Board of Directors of the American Society of Papyrologists

Congratulations to Professor Sofía Torallas Tovar on her appointment to the board of directors of the American Society of Papyrologists, a distinguished honor!  Established a half-century ago to promote the study of Greek and Latin papyri, the ASP now also supports publications in Demotic Egyptian, Coptic, and Arabic, with plans to include Hieratic Egyptian and Aramaic in the future. The ASP publishes The Bulletin of the American Society of Papyrologists (BASP), and three book series, in addition to organizing annual panel sessions at both the Society for Classical Studies and the Society for Biblical Literature. Prof. Torallas Tovar continues a tradition of excellence in papyrological studies at UChicago that stretches back to Nabia Abbott.
