!سيلقي هذا الأسبوع محمود حسني محاضرة بعنوان "موجة الديستوبيا في الأدب العربي المعاصر والأبوكاليبس الإيكولوجي في الجنوب العالمي". وسيكون محمود موجوداً شخصياً معنا في القاعة
محمود حسني رشدي كاتب مصري له رواية بعنوان خرائط يونس (2018) وهو أيضاً يترجم الأدبي ما بين العربية والانجليزية. نشرت ثلاث من ترجماته إلى العربية: رواية إرنست هيمنغواي "العجوز والبحر" (2016) و رواية جون ستاينبك "الؤلؤة" (2017) ورواية جون بيرجر "إلى العرس" (2022).
محمود طالب دكتوراه في السنة الرابعة من برنامج الدراسات المقارنة في الأدب والثقافة بجامعة جنوب كاليفورنيا. يركز بحثه على مفهوم نهاية العالم في الأدب والسينما والتصوير ما بين العالم العربي وأمريكا اللاتينية

Mahmoud Hosny Roshdy will be giving a talk titled: The Dystopian Wave in Contemporary Arabic Literature and The Ecological Apocalypse in Global South. Mahmoud will be joining us in-person this Friday!
Mahmoud is a writer from Egypt with a published novel in Arabic Maps of Jonas (2018) and a literary translator between Arabic and English. He has three published translations from English into Arabic: Hemingway's The Old Man and The Sea (2016), Steinbeck's The Pearl (2017) and John Berger's To The Wedding (2022).
Mahmoud is a 4th year PhD candidate in the Comparative Studies in Literature and Culture program at the University of Southern California. He focuses on the concept of apocalypse in literature, film and photography between the Arab world and Latin America in the context of the Global South.
