هذا الأسبوع سنسعد باستضافة الباحث المستقل محمد قعدان الذي سيلقي محاضرة بعنوان: «نهايات الفلاحة الفلسطينية تحت الحكم العسكري ١٩٤٨-١٩٦٦: سلب الأراضي، كوارث المناخ والتعويض المستحيل«.
حصلَ محمد قعدان على درجة الماجستير من كلية علم الاجتماع، جامعة كوليدج دبلن (UCD)، متخصصًا في برنامج >العرق والهجرة ودراسات نزع-الاستعمار<، وحصل على شهادة البكالوريوس في جامعة تل أبيب في برنامج متعدد التخصصات. شارك في تأسيس >منتدى إدوارد سعيد< للطلبة الفلسطينيين في العلوم الاجتماعية والإنسانية. قام بتأليف العديد من المقالات السياسية والتاريخية والاجتماعية باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية. وساهم في كتابة بعض من الدراسات المحكمة باللغة العربية، حيث ركز في أحدث أعماله على >الحكم العسكري، والتهريب، وصنع الحدود: تبعثر العلاقات الفلسطينية وترميمها على خطّ الهدنة<، والذي تم تقديمه في المؤتمر الأكاديمي السنوي لمدى الكرمل في أيّار مايو 2023.
ونعيد التذكير بأن الندوة العربية تُرحّب بجميع الطلاب الكرام من شتى المستويات، كما ترحِّب بكل محبّي اللغة العربية. نتمنى أن نراكم قريبًا إن شاء الله! لا تترددوا في الاتصال بنا إن كانت لديكم أي ملاحظات أو اقتراحات.

This week we are delighted to welcome Mohamad Kadan, who will deliver a talk titled “The Decline of Palestinian Peasantry Under Military Rule 1948-1966: Land Dispossession, Climate Disasters and Impossible Compensation.”
Mohamad Kadan earned his Master’s degree from the School of Sociology, University College Dublin, specializing in Race, Migration, and Decolonial Studies, and earned an undergraduate degree at Tel Aviv University in the multidisciplinary program. He co-founded the Edward Said Forum for Palestinian students in the Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as authoring numerous political, historical, and sociological articles and essays in Arabic and English. His contributions include several peer-reviewed studies in Arabic, with his latest work, “Military Rule, Smuggling, and Border Making: Disruption and Restoration of Palestinian Relations on the Armistice Line,” presented at the Annual Academic Conference of Mada Al Carmel in May 2023.
